WEDNESDAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE | FICTIONAL WORLDS I’D LOVE TO VISIT

There aren’t that many fictional worlds I’ve gotten to know that I have strong feelings about. There’s Middle Earth from Tolkien’s books – but most of that sounded traumatic, so I’m not very interested in going there. With the possible exception of the Hobbit Hole, which sounds cosy. Or there’s the sci-fi world of something like The Martian – again, not much interest in that. I don’t like tight spaces, so space travel is a quick out for me. And being on Mars alone, in an existentially fraught situation, without anyone to help me – there’s no way I’d a) have the knowledge to figure out how to save myself or b) have the mental stability to keep calm and carry on.

The only world I can really think of that I might want to visit is the one from The House in the Cerulean Sea and Somewhere Beyond the Sea. I adored those books, I loved the characters, and I also liked the setting enough that it sounds like somewhere I’d love to be. So if I had to choose one, that would be it.

What about you guys? Did you have more options for fictional visitation than I did? Anyone else have a similar conundrum?
