LINK-UP | IT’S MONDAY! WHAT ARE YOU READING?

It’s still busy here, so though I’m reading, I’m not reading a lot or very quickly. But I am enjoying my summer so far – I’m out planting and watering every day, we’re still picking raspberries, and I’m loving the massive increase in bees and other creatures visiting the garden this year. We’ve got more flowers than ever before, and it’s really drawing them in. I love just watching the busy little fuzzy-butt bees crawling into various flowers and the friendly sound of them buzzing around me while I’m watering. My kid has a cold, so it’s been a quiet week trying not to pass it on, but I’ve also been really enjoying spending time together. My Dad is coming to visit this week and we’ve not seen him for a while – I think maybe three months almost – so we’re all looking forward to that this week, along with the beginning of swimming lessons for my kid. So, though it’s been quiet on the reading front, life is happening!

Wings of Fire: The Hidden Kingdom (Graphic Novel #3) by Tui T. Sutherland

I’ve been reading a bit this week, but I haven’t finished much. Just this one graphic novel that my kid lent me – and it’s got quite the ending, I must say!

Currently Reading

Grounding by Lulah Ellender
The List of Suspicious Things by Jennie Godfrey
The Dark Secret (Graphic Novel #4) by Tui T. Sutherland

Memorial Days by Geraldine Brooks
The Japanese Lover by Isabel Allende
Nature on the Doorstep by Angela E. Douglas
Unearthing by Kyo Maclear

I’m still sort of reading these, though probably I’ve DNFed one or two (Nature on the Doorstep, Unearthing and possibly Memorial Days) without actually admitting that to myself yet! I did DNF Our Little Lies by Sue Watson because it was very tedious and didn’t seem to be going anywhere, and I just wasn’t feeling any desire to keep reading it. I’m still loving Grounding, and honestly not hurrying to finish it because I love it so much, and The List of Suspicious Things is a library book I picked up yesterday and I’m halfway through it – loving it so far! And of course I’m continuing on with the Wings of Fire series and am on to book four!

Up Next

Some of Us Just Fall by Polly Atkin
And I Shall Have Some Peace There by
The Hidden Witch  (Witch Boy 2) by Molly Knox Ostertag
The Midwinter Witch (Witch Boy 3) by Molly Knox Ostertag

Through the Garden by Lorna Crozier
The Running Hare by John Lewis-Stempel
Better by Arianna Rebolini
Garden to Save the World by Joe Clark

I still have an absurdly large stack of library books sitting by my bed waiting for me to tackle them, but I’m thinking I’m going to have to send some of them back soon and borrow them again later – there’s no way I can get through all of these!

That was my week! It’s been nice reading a bit, but not stressing when I’ve just felt like watching old episodes of Richard Osman’s House of Games instead! What about you guys? Did you read any good books this week?

A weekly post that encourages bloggers to share what they have read in the past week, what they’re currently reading and books they’ve recently added to their TBRs. Originally started by Sheila at Book Journey, it is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date. I also link up with The Sunday Salon post each week hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz (and sometimes include some of her content prompts).

I haven’t been to the library in ages. Between review books and books on my Kindle, I just can’t fit in any more books. Your summer days sound enjoyable and relaxing. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I don’t really do review copies these days – I used to but lost my contact when a couple of the bigger publishers merged and never got back into it. But I don’t mind, it means I can choose what I read except when I’m judging the BookTube Prize, but even that is by choice and I enjoy the push to read books I otherwise wouldn’t have!
