WEDNESDAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE | BOOKS ABOUT TOUGH STUFF

There are so many books that could be on this list. So many wonderful, amazing, brilliant books about very tough things, all of which I’d heartily recommend. Even some funny books that deal with tragedy and pain and suffering, or books that have a lot of wonderful moments or lead somewhere much better than they start. Or books that don’t end somewhere pleasant, but that are still more than worth the trip. So here are some, on a variety of different issues and circumstances, that definitely fit the brief.

The Electricity of Every Living Thing by Katherine May
Scatter Brain by Shaparak Khorsandi
Strong Female Character by Fern Brady

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi
My Lovely Wife in the Psych Ward by Mark Lukach
The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elisabeth Tova Bailey
The Salt Path by Raynor Winn

The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion
Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

Are there any other wonderful books about difficult things that you’d add to this list? Did I include any of your favourites?
