LINK-UP | IT’S MONDAY! WHAT ARE YOU READING?

I haven’t written a Monday post for two weeks – my kid was sick last week and I was busy doing the reading in my spare time rather than the blogging about reading! So this is my last two weeks in books. Hope everyone else is holding up through the beginning of school/autumn/whatever else is happening in your part of the world!

Just Shelved

Clear by Carys Davies
Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange
Vanishing Fleece by Clara Parkes
Moon Rising (Wings of Fire Graphic Novel #6) by Tui T. Sutherland and Mike Holmes (Illustrator)

I finished up Clear and Wandering Stars – the last two books for my BookTube Prize judging for the year! Still can’t tell you anything about them for a couple more days, but we shall find out which book won on October 1st. Vanishing Fleece was the next book I read, and it’s all about yarn, which ties in with my winter hobbies and is perfect for where my brain is at right now. I also finished the sixth Wings of Fire graphic novel, Moon Rising, which had me on the edge of my seat and even got me teary-eyed at one point! Definitely a great series, and one that will capture the attention of new or young readers!

Currently  Reading

Grounding by Lulah Ellender
A Still Life by Josie George
Ex Libris by Anne Fadiman (re-read)
Knitlandia by Clara Parkes

I’m still sort of working on the first three – albeit not very hard. I’ve started listening to Knitlandia as it’s yet another book all about knitting and yarn, and I’m enjoying it so far! I like Clara Parkes’ writing and narration, you can feel her enthusiasm for her topic as she reads. Great for listening to while knitting or crocheting!

Up Next

At Knit’s End by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee
How to Knit a Love Song by Rachael Herron
A Stash of One’s Own by Clara Parkes
Washington Black by Esi Edugyan

A Particularly Nasty Case by Adam Kay
My Friends by Fredrik Backman
Ordinary Time by Annie B. Jones
Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop by Hwang Bo-Reum

As usual I don’t really know what I’ll read next, but these are some of the top contenders! I’ve got a few more yarncraft-related books on the TBR, as well as Washington Black as I want to finish it before watching the series. The last four are either newly added to my TBR, or need to go back to the library soon.

That’s it for my week in books! What have you guys been reading lately? Have your interests shifted along with the weather, or are you more consistent in which books attract you throughout the year? Have you read any of these?

A weekly post that encourages bloggers to share what they have read in the past week, what they’re currently reading and books they’ve recently added to their TBRs. Originally started by Sheila at Book Journey, it is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date. I also link up with The Sunday Salon post each week hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz (and sometimes include some of her content prompts).

Winners have been announced, so I can now tell you that James was my first place pick, and it did indeed win! Loved it. I also really enjoyed the Elif Shafak, which was second place. I wasn’t in agreement on third, as I preferred Wandering Stars, but I’m pleased with the first two!
I enjoy Wings of Fire, especially reading it with a kiddo. If your grandkids are fans, it should be a lot of fun to read with them! I hope you enjoy it!
