LINK-UP | IT’S MONDAY! WHAT ARE YOU READING?

Well, summer is in full swing here! It’s been a busy but fun week – we did have some rainy days, but the rain broke enough to go for some nature walks. We found a berry thicket that has three kinds of berry bushes in it. One is past season, one hasn’t ripened yet, but we picked huckleberries and snacked on them on the way home. We’ve got our inflatable pool out at the moment because it’s quite hot for here – around 30 today – and my kid loves being in the water! I’ve gotten a little bit of reading done this week, but still not very much.

Why Women Grow by Alice Vincent
Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister

I finished both of these audiobooks this week and I really enjoyed both of them. Why Women Grow is a great book about both gardening and the various challenges in the lives of the women Vincent interviews, and how they each found gardening helpful. Famous Last Words is a new Gillian McAllister thriller, and I really enjoyed it. It’s left me wanting more!

Currently Reading

Wings of Fire: The Hidden Kingdom (Graphic Novel #3) by Tui T. Sutherland
Grounding by Lulah Ellender
Our Little Lies by Sue Watson

Memorial Days by Geraldine Brooks
The Japanese Lover by Isabel Allende
Nature on the Doorstep by Angela E. Douglas
Unearthing by Kyo Maclear

Most of these are from last week, and I’ve not made progress on any except Grounding. But I did start Our Little Lies – it’s a thriller, which I was in the mood for, and I know nothing about it. So far it’s a bit slow, and I don’t love it, but we’ll see how it goes!

All of these are still on my list from last week, lots of library books I’ve not so much as touched this week! I suspect a few will be getting returned unread…..

That’s my week! I’ve been working a lot on a binder of school review pages for my kid’s homeschooling, which we are behind on, so that’s taken most of my spare time this week. Tackling Math next, so wish me luck! How was the last week for you guy? Any great reads to share?

A weekly post that encourages bloggers to share what they have read in the past week, what they’re currently reading and books they’ve recently added to their TBRs. Your summer with berry picking and swimming in an inflatable pool sounds delightful. I’m glad it has arrived there.

So many wonderful nature books on your various shelves. I need the comfort of nature reading.

Yes, it’s enjoyable so far! We’re very behind on homeschool, so there’s still school most days – but I’m hoping if we can zoom through and mostly catch up over the summer, if we keep up the pace next year we might actually get a summer vacation! I love nature reading. I just read Why Women Garden, and it was exactly what I was looking for. I’m also enjoying Grounding by Lulah Ellender – one I’d recommend, though it seems harder to find over here (it’s a UK one).
