These two mark the end of my BookTube Prize reading! I’ve finished all six, just in time as I have to turn in my rankings next week. I’m glad I did it, though I can’t yet share my opinions until rankings are in!
Currently Reading
Now that I’ve finished my BookTube reading, I’m hoping to circle back to these ones that I’ve been slowly chipping away at. I know I’ll finish The Farmer’s Wife this week as I’m nearly at the end (I might even finish that one up today), and I’m also nearing the end of the third Wings of Fire graphic novel – I suspect my kiddo will hand me the fourth once I’m done, so that might also be in my upcoming reading!

I’ve really enjoyed my BookTube reading, as I always do, but there’s also this moment of exhilaration when I complete the sixth and final book and realize that all of a sudden I can choose any book I want to read next! I can read three at once! I can start and abandon them if I want to! I think that feeling of excitement about where my reading will go next is part of what I love about the experience, as strange as that sounds, and the feeling of pride at having completed all of the books I set out to read (TBRs are very challenging to me, so while six books may not sound that many, it is for me!). Anyway, these are three books I’ve currently been considering – the first one I’ve had my eye on for ages and finally used an audiobook credit for, and the other two were completely random books I stumbled across at the local library and decided to check out. No idea if I’ll like them, but I’m looking forward to giving them a try!
The Witch Boy by Molly Ostertag
These two are ones I nearly forgot I’ve had waiting for me from the library as well, so they’re last minute additions! I read Garlic & the Witch after my kid loved it, and really enjoyed it. I didn’t realize it was the second book in a series at the time, but once I found that out I reserved Garlic & the Vampire from the library immediately. My kid did not like this one as much as the first one we read, but I still want to give it a try. And in a post a while back where I shared that I had read Garlic & the Witch, someone said they wanted to read it because when they looked up the blurb, it mentioned a similarity to The Witch Boy and they had loved that book (I’m sorry I can’t remember which blogger it was who left that comment and can’t find it at the moment, so if it was you please say so in the comments so people know!). That made me curious, so I also reserved The Witch Boy from the library and have been excited to give that a try!
So that was my week of reading! I’m looking forward to this coming week as there are more family birthdays and I am planning a bit of a reading free-for-all, so I expect I’ll start and abandon several books! What about you guys?
