LINK-UP | IT’S MONDAY! WHAT ARE YOU READING?

Another busy week this week – birthday parties and family stuff all weekend – so not much time to read this week! I didn’t finish anything, but did listen to a bit of a couple of audiobooks while doing mindless tasks.

Nothing this week!

Currently Reading

The Lie of the Land by Amanda Craig
 Shy Creatures by Clare Chambers
The Farmer’s Wife by Helen Rebanks
Wings of Fire: The Hidden Kingdom (Graphic Novel #3) by Tui T. Sutherland

Still working on the first two. Started listening to The Farmer’s Wife last week because it seemed like a calm book that I could lose myself in and calm my brain a little. It was a good idea, and I’m really enjoying most of it. I’ve started reading the third Wings of Fire graphic novel again because my kid laid it out on my bed with one of their favourite bookmarks and a note saying, “read this, Mommy!” Who could resist? We’ve been reading together at bedtime this week.

Up Next

Sipsworth by Simon van Booy

Because it’s been such a busy week I’ve not finished any of my BookTube Prize reading, so this is still the only book in my TBR until I’ve completed my judging commitments. I’m hoping to get to it next week.

That’s it for my week! A great week, but not much of a reading one. Great time of year though – the gardens are in full bloom, the weather has been mostly pleasant, and it feels so nice being outside again

A weekly post that encourages bloggers to share what they have read in the past week, what they’re currently reading and books they’ve recently added to their TBRs. Originally started by Sheila at Book Journey, it is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date. I also link up with The Sunday Salon post each week hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz (and sometimes include some of her content prompts).

Interestingly mine actually discovered it by browsing library shelves. They’re very into dragons, so it stood out and they decided to give it a try – and have never looked back! But now I am seeing it everywhere! Around the same age as your grandchild, so probably also the age appropriateness. We’re doing graphic novels and audiobooks of the chapter book versions at the moment, but hoping to get into the full length ones eventually! I can’t say anything about Shy Creatures yet – but I will share my thoughts next month!

Yeah, it’s definitely had some buzz. I’m sorry your library doesn’t have a copy! Can you request they get it or borrow through inter-library loan? It’s frustrating because a lot of the books I want to read are British, so they don’t have them here either!

It’s actually been a great range of books to read, and yeah, no chance of resisting a kid’s book recommendations! I’m really looking forward to Sipsworth, so I’m saving it until last. Hopefully I should get to it next week! Thank you, I hope you have a good week too!

Thank you! I’m nearly finished The Farmer’s Wife, and I’m enjoying it. There are some bits I’m less interested in, but overall a great read. Good when I needed something calming! I hope you enjoy yours as well!
