Wow it’s been a busy week, and we’re only just getting started! May seems to be birthday month around here – so many birthdays happening, it seems, back to back with one another. We’re already feeling overwhelmed and exhausted – and there are plenty more still to come next week! But it has been beautiful weather here for the most part, and we’ve been able to spent more time outside. We inherited a larger patio table set as well, so that’ll be nice for summer so we can eat in the garden more often! Didn’t do much reading this week, except my comfort book which I needed!

My Best Friend Is a Dolphin! – Moira Rose Donohue
Wildful by Kengo Kurimoto
I finished listening to The Twat Files in the car earlier in the week, and enjoyed it. My Best Friend Is a Dolphin was one my kid and I listened to in the car as well (I have a feeling we got through another one too, but I didn’t remember to add it to my list, and now I don’t remember which one!). Wildful is just a beautiful graphic novel about the healing power of nature, and I loved the feel of it.

Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton
Wake is a graphic novel I’ve had on my shelf forever, but just kept forgetting to pick up. It’s a really interesting book, but also quite emotional. Frustrating because of the lack of records of its subjects, sad and infuriating because…. well, it’s a book about slavery and enduring racism, so how could it be anything else? I’m glad I read it though, and it gave me a lot to think and wonder about. I got back to Raising Hare and really gave it a proper go this time, and before long I was completely hooked. It’s just so brilliant, you guys.
Currently Reading

I only read a little bit of The Lie of the Land this week, the others got set aside in favour of Raising Hare as I couldn’t stop once I got into that one! I’ll be working on Shy Creatures this week. I’ve decided to remove Brit(ish) by Afua Hirsch for now, not because I’m not planning to read it, but because I don’t think I’ll be getting to it for a little while and it’s bugging me to keep seeing it every week when I’m not making progress!
Up Next

Still just sticking with this on the TBR as I really do need to get through it ASAP!
That was my week! This next one or two will be some of the busiest of the year, so you might not hear from me next week, but hopefully I’ll be back the week after! Hope you guys had a great week!
A weekly post that encourages bloggers to share what they have read in the past week, what they’re currently reading and books they’ve recently added to their TBRs. Originally started by Sheila at Book Journey, it is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date. I also link up with The Sunday Salon post each week hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz (and sometimes include some of her content prompts).

Great books this week. Raising Hare and Shy Creatures caught my eye. I’ve seen Raising Hare on a lot of blogs. Happy reading!
Thank you! Yes, I’d definitely recommend Raising Hare, I really enjoyed it!
I enjoyed Wildful—I was delighted to be able to find it at my library—and I’m glad you did, too.
I’ve just added Raising Hare to my list. I’m pretty sure I’ll like that one as well.
Oh, I’m so pleased you’ve read Wildful! I hadn’t heard of it, just came across it randomly on a library display shelf. But I’m so glad I did, it’s just such a lovely book. I definitely think you should give Raising Hare a try – I suspect it might be your kind of book!
I have Sipsworth on my Kindle. No idea when I am going to get to it though!
Have a great week!
Isn’t that always the question?
