I haven’t written a Monday post for two weeks – my kid was sick last week and I was busy doing the reading in my spare time rather than the blogging about reading! It has been quite the couple of weeks, and I’m sorry to say, I’ve been neglecting my blog horrendously (to the tune of 426 comments, more than 400 of them spam…. yikes! If you’ve commented and it’s been stuck in the queue, my apologies, I am going to work on catching up with them this READ MORE

I skipped last week’s Monday post because I was busy, but I didn’t have a lot to report anyway! It’s been busy here – trying to fit in some last bits of summer fun, a visit from family, and just generally pootling about the garden and the house and spending some quality time with the READ MORE

Another busy week, but I have managed to do some reading! I also got a lot of work done in the garden. It was time to start cutting back some of the straggly plants, re-plant the front beds by the front door that were looking a bit sad and start clearing out the dying borage READ MORE

The weeks are just zooming by, and don’t seem to have that much reading time, unfortunately! I’m starting on my BookTube Prize reading, and I started with the long book, so it’s slow going. I’m not able to say what I’m thinking of it so far, but I’m hoping to finish it this week. Other READ MORE

Another busy week of ups and downs. I’ve got another lung infection, which I’m trying to keep in check without more antibiotics as I’m worried about how often I take them and the effect that has on my body and their effectiveness. It’s unpleasant but not getting worse, so I’m really hoping I’ll start seeing READ MORE

Another busy and warm week here, but a fun one! It was far too hot through the middle of the week, and because I’m not good with heat I was hiding from it a good chunk of the time. But still managed to get some gardening done and spend a little time enjoying the outdoors READ MORE

We’re really into summer here, and it’s been hot and muggy over the last week, making it a little difficult to do much in the afternoon other than sit in the shade and try to move as little as possible! On the plus side the garden is full of life – we’ve got more bees READ MORE

It’s still busy here, so though I’m reading, I’m not reading a lot or very quickly. But I am enjoying my summer so far – I’m out planting and watering every day, we’re still picking raspberries, and I’m loving the massive increase in bees and other creatures visiting the garden this year. Well, summer is in full swing here! It’s been a busy but fun week – we did have some rainy days, but the rain broke enough to go for some nature walks. We found a berry thicket that has three kinds of berry bushes in it. One is past season, one hasn’t ripened yet, but READ MORE

This was the first full week of summer vacation, and it’s been good but a little discombobulating because regular routines are up in the air. This means my reading has also been a bit all over the place. Plus all my library holds came in at once, so now I’m drowning in reading options, and READ MORE

Another busy week! But in a good way – we had another birthday, my kid had a couple of fun field trips, and we had a bit of unscheduled time off home school because by the end of the week, we were quite frankly knackered. So my kid got to spend a lot of time READ MORE

Though it’s mid-May, and we’ve got lush foliage on the trees, beautiful flowers in bloom, berries forming on branches and birds and bees zooming around, this last week felt like the very early days of Spring again.
