Prompt: Would you rather read a book with terrible writing but a good story or a terrible story but good writing?
You’d think this would be a hard one, but it’s actually fairly easy for me. Obviously good writing is very important to me. It can make a good book amazing. But there does need to be a decent story in there to begin with, otherwise it’s just fancy writing without any substance. So assuming that it’s poorly written but not unreadable, I’d take the good story with bad writing rather than the bad story with good writing.
What about you guys? Are on the side of story over writing, or writing over story?
