Prompt: DO YOU EVER GET STRANGE LOOKS FROM STRANGERS WHILE BROWSING BOOKSHELVES IN DEPARTMENT STORES? WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING THROUGH THEIR MINDS?
Well, I don’t really go into department stores these days. I still don’t love public places since COVID, plus I now have allergic asthma so scents are hard – I’m terrified of department store perfume departments, who knows what would happen to me there! And even when I did, I don’t really remember seeing any bookshelves. The closest I can think of is the table of books in Walmart, where I also rarely go, and even when I do it’s to look for cheap kids’ clothes or household items, not to browse books. But I’ve also never received (or noticed if I did) strange looks while browsing books anywhere. Usually people who even notice are also doing the same thing! I’d be quite surprised if I did notice strange looks for browsing books, and I think I’d be more confused than wondering what they were thinking! Who has a problem with book shopping???
So not much from me this week. Anyone have this experience? Why do you think you got strange looks?
