BOOK BLOGGER HOP | LITTLE FREE LIBRARIES

I love little free libraries. I really want to get one myself, now that I live in a home that has a street-facing driveway I could put it at the end of! I am dropping hints and hoping that someone handy in my life might help me put one together at some point, but we shall see. I’d really like to have one with a few shelves so I could separate out different books and also use some of the space to put garden stuff in during the summer – I always have too many tomatoes and I like to grow but don’t really eat beans, and even raspberries come thick and fast for part of the summer! I’d love to just put things in there that people in the area could grab to snack on when they walk past or take home to add to dinner!

In the meantime, there are a couple around me. The only one that’s really in walking distance is the one at the local elementary school – and it’s only for kids’ books – but it’s a great place for us to drop off books my kid has finished with, and peruse to see if there are any we’d like to read! I struggle to get rid of kids’ books we loved reading and that I’m attached to (there are some I’ll just keep), but it does make it slightly easier if I’m able to drop them off at a free library that I know kids in the area will be able to visit and find treasures in!

What about you guys? Do you have a little free library? If not, are there any near you that you can walk to and check out or leave books at?

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly blog link-up that gives participants a different book-related question to ponder each week, and allows them to share their thoughts, find new blogs to follow and connect with new readers. The Hop was originally created by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and is now hosted by Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. To see a list of upcoming prompts go here.
