Hello all! I’m just posting a little note out of my regular scheduled content to fill you in on my current situation. I have had two events happen in the last week that may affect my blogging – one may even lead to me not being able to post as much or at all for a little while. The first is I managed, despite years of warning my kid not to do the same exact thing, to slam my left thumb in a car door. So it’s currently swollen, purple, and quite a little bit painful. Luckily I am able to do most things with my right hand, but until the swelling goes down moving my left hand hurts, so typing isn’t the most comfortable (I’m currently full of painkillers and going very slowly!). I’m hoping this will become less painful quickly as the swelling goes down, but for right now it’s not very enjoyable!
The second is a bigger issue. My computer decided it no longer wanted to be part of my life and is now no longer functional. My technically-savvy husband has tried to fix it, but despite his best efforts it looks like the hard drive is dead. He’s trying to find a replacement in his vast array of computer parts, but it’s not looking good. So if I get lucky he might be able to find a replacement in the next week or two and get me back online. If not I don’t have a computer, and as anyone who has tried will know, writing blog posts on a phone with any type of formatting is impossible. I’m currently writing this on my husband’s computer, which he kindly let me use while he’s out, but as he works from home he’s not able to free it up for me to use very reliably. I’ll look into local library computers and see if that’s an option, and I’m sure he’ll let me hop on when he is able to, but otherwise you guys may just be getting the few posts I’ve already finished and scheduled, but they will be inconsistent and patchy. Notably it means my weekly updates on Mondays will not be happening each week for a while. If I get opportunities, I’ll try to post as I’m able and cover the gap going back to my last one.
Anyway, I wanted to just share a little update so that if I do disappear or post less, those of you who visit me regularly will know why! Here’s hoping for a technical miracle!
