LINK-UP | IT’S MONDAY! WHAT ARE YOU READING?

The weeks are just zooming by, and don’t seem to have that much reading time, unfortunately! I’m starting on my BookTube Prize reading, and I started with the long book, so it’s slow going. I’m not able to say what I’m thinking of it so far, but I’m hoping to finish it this week. Other than that it feels like there’s a lot going on in life and never enough time to get everything done, and honestly I’m feeling pretty burnt out. I guess it’s just summer vacation – lack of structure but still things that need to get done, only without the daily time I have during the school year to buckle down and do it. So here we are, just trying to get through each day as it comes and find bits of time to read!

Just Shelved

Nothing this week.

Currently  Reading

The Japanese Lover by Isabel Allende
Grounding by Lulah Ellender
The Running Hare by John Lewis-Stempel
See Me Rolling by Lottie Jackson

A Year in the Woods by Torbjørn Ekelund
And I Shall Have Some Peace There by Margaret Roach
There Are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak

This week I’ve mostly just been reading And I Shall Have Some Peace There earlier in the week and then There Are Rivers In the Sky, which took over for the end of the week. It’s long, so I’m only about a third of the way through it so far!

Up Next

Clear by Carys Davies
James by Percival Everett
Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar

My Friends by Hisham Matar
Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange

I will likely be reading James next as my hold for it just came in at the library, then after that probably My Friends, unless another hold comes in first!

That’s it for my weirdly exhausting but unproductive week! Here’s hoping that life feels a little more manageable this week. Did you guys get any good books read this week? Have you read any of mine? Anyone else suffering a mid-summer dip in energy?

A weekly post that encourages bloggers to share what they have read in the past week, what they’re currently reading and books they’ve recently added to their TBRs. Originally started by Sheila at Book Journey, it is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date. I also link up with The Sunday Salon post each week hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz (and sometimes include some of her content prompts).

    • RAIN CITY READS says:

I’m still drawn to quiet nature books (I’m still working on Grounding and the Margaret Roach book), but I’m excited to try some books outside of my quiet reading as well, ones I wouldn’t have read at all otherwise! Sometimes I discover unexpected great reads that way. But yes, I am still very much with you!
