BOOK BLOGGER HOP | DEBUT OR SEASONED AUTHORS?

Both, also I’ll read books by authors who are new to me but not debut. It very much depends on a few things. I’ll read a new book by an author I loved, of course – but if I read a couple and they don’t continue to impress me, I won’t keep coming back to them. If I find a book that looks interesting – like recently in library displays – I’ll pick them up and give them a try, and sometimes I discover some amazing books this way. I’ll also read books if I hear a lot of positive feedback from other bloggers, book reviewers, news outlets, people I know, other authors… basically I’ll read any book that I have a reason to be interested in, regardless of the author’s publishing history.

What about you guys? Do you have a preference? Are you more nervous to try new authors, or conversely do you find it exciting to pick up a book by a writer who could become a new favourite?

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly blog link-up that gives participants a different book-related question to ponder each week, and allows them to share their thoughts, find new blogs to follow and connect with new readers. The Hop was originally created by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and is now hosted by Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. To see a list of upcoming prompts go here.
